The room on the far right is off the kitchen and has a large dining table, where we eat and do our schoolwork. The windows give it lots of natural light.
To the right of the door is the living room at the front of the house and the kitchen at the back.
To the left of the door are two bedrooms and a bathroom on each side of a wide hallway.
Upstairs there are sloped ceilings, with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a sitting room. Each room upstairs except the bath has 2 large skylights that open for fresh air, let in lots of light and are great for stargazing on a clear night.
The house has about 2500 square feet, but there are no closets or storage areas, so it is all living space.
The car is a Volkswagon Caddy, which is a very small diesel minivan made only for Europe. More on driving later!

You’ve already seen the messy laundry room in the post about laundry π

This four-legged friend has also begun visiting! I guess word has gotten out that we have treats. She comes running whenever the kids go out to play in the yard. She loves to play catch and run relay races, and also seems to be out in all kinds of weather (just like the black dog).

You have already seen the pictures of the beach, so that is the house and neighborhood. We will go on a longer walk if it ever stops raining and then we will have pictures of dairy farms and probably some great ocean views from higher up the hill.

Hello dear Brogans! The house (love that the name means “Refuge”) and neighborhood look absolutely lovely! So green, spacious, and peaceful! You seem to be Labrador magnets – if word gets out that you provide dog snacks, you might have every farm dog, herding dog, and other neighborhood roaming dog hanging around! I recently read a fictional story that took place in Scotland, and one of the characters remarked that if you didn’t like the weather, all you had to do was wait 5 minutes, for it would be sure to change. Sounds similar to what you describe!

Itβs quite lovely and certainly different than living in NJ! Have you seen any cafe use Louis Mulcahy pottery? You are so close to the original shop!

Yes, very close! Maybe about 20-30 minutes from town. I know the store has a cafe and they use their pottery there, but I’ve not seen it anywhere else.

Got a look at the windows in the Lisbeth Mulcahy store today, and she displays Louis Mulcahy pottery in her windows. I’m thinking they must be related. When I saw the window, I realized that there are Louis Mulcahy candle holders in the house we are in! I’ll text you a photo π

I love all the photos. It really helps to see all my cutie pie’s faces and makes it feel like you are not so far away.
A big Happy Birthday sent out to Thomas! I remember the day he was born like it was yesterday…where did those 21 years go?!?!?!?!
I am trying to be fancy and add a “happy birthday” picture but apparently I am technologically challenged with blog picture attachments. So please give him a big hug for me in replacement of cool emojis. Love and miss you all!!!!

Thanks, Car! I will tell him. We just returned from a delicious fish dinner to celebrate! Thought he would want a Guinness, but he opted for chocolate cake instead π
